Costa Rica Indígena was found in 2017 by a group of young people formed in different academic disciplines who share the same vision about social service.
The main idea was to create a non-profit organization that would work as a brigde between the indigenous communities and other institutions and organizations in our country in order to suffice all the different needs presented in their environments.
We focus on topics related with human rights, health access, empowerment and cultural enhancement, by promoting sustainable projects that will give benefits in a long term period.
Our organization works to be recognized as a national leader in the implementation of empowering projects in the indigenous communities. Our efforts aim to build bridges with national and international voluntary alliances committed to respect local traditions and sustainable management of resources and the different indigenous groups.
Through different research programs, volunteering and campaigns Costa Rica Indígena innovates actively promoting the development of social welfare projects with Costa Rican and Central American indigenous populations. We offer training to our volunteers that strengthens respect for the right of native inhabitants to fully exercise their traditions, their vision of the world and their own way of life.
To contribute to the wellness of the indigenous communities by strengthening their social an economical development, respecting their culture and human rights.
Costa Rica Indígena is a Non-Profit Organization, our team does not charge for salaries or any operational cost, we all work as volunteers; however, we do need economical support to execute a lot of our projects, that’s why your help is vital for us.
